Perforce Integration Bind Detection Issue

I am trying to use the Perforce integration for the first time with Flare 2021, and the Bind Detection never seems to finish and Flare appears to be locked up.
Does it try to get the whole depot, or just the project that you open. We have a very large depot with many Flare projects.
I tried to manually Bind the project in the project settings, but the Flare interface is almost locked up and unresponsive when I try to define the values in the Bind Project dialog box.
Any advice would be appreciated.
