Troubleshooting Connection to TFS

So, I'm trying to work out something.. I have inherited a project bound to a Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
When I open the project, all the files have the green Add sign next to them, so I figured I need to check everything in. So, I click Source Control>Check in all.
After a few minutes it looks like everything is checked in, but the green add symbol is still attached to all the files.
When I look at pending changes in the source control explorer all the files are listed
Does this mean they haven't been checked in? There is another writer who seems to be able to check things in. What can I do to troubleshoot? Thanks! I have tried Binding and Unbinding the project
