Existing image sizing

Hello,
I'm working on creating an online format for our pdf manuals. We have several existing images (pngs) that look great and are sized for print. When I resize (reducing the size) any of the images for the html target, the images come out blurry.

I would like to find a solution that does not involve going through Illustrator and resaving everything. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Snagit has batch-processing capabilities you can use to perform an action, including resizing, on all the files in a folder.

When I create images for reuse I like to make them 550px wide during processing. I use cropping techniques, rather than resizing; occasionally if I have to resize I use the image editing program, they have better resampling tools than relying on a browser. It works well for print and the images are large enough on a computer screen - they are the same size as the original. I also maintain the Window's resolution of 96 dpi. Resizing and changing resolution will cause blurriness.
