Landscape orientation

Post by DavidStone »

Hello.
I am very new to Flare and Technical Authoring so, please be patient. I have a document that is in portrait. I would if possible like some pages that contain tables to be in landscape. Is this possible? My output is pdf.
Thank you.

Hi David.

First, you'll need to create a landscape page layout file with one or more landscape pages (e.g., left and right, normal, first, first right, and so forth).

Then, in your TOC, for first topic that you want to present in landscape, edit that topic's TOC item so that you set a page break and then select the landscape page layout (and which specific page, else select the "continue" option [however that is labeled; I'm going on memory]). This page layout will be inherited by any TOC items that follow this TOC item, so, for the topic where you want to go back to portrait orientation, set its TOC item's properties to do a page break and select the portrait page layout.

I hope this is enough to get you going.
