One topic in multiple places in Content Explorer?

In my project that produces multiple related but separate manuals, I have several folders under Content, one for each manual type. There are several topics that are common to more than one manual. For organizational reasons, I'd like to keep each topic in it's associated folder, but I would also like to make sure that each topic is identical to the same topic in another folder. Other than creating a snippet from the entire content of a topic and placing that in the other topics, is there a way to accomplish this, kind of like external resources but for internal resources? I have nothing against snippets, just wondering.
Thanks.

Have you investigated Global Project Linking?

You can keep your common content in a separate project and use it where needed.

Thanks, Steve. In my mind, I kind of grouped global project linking under 'external resources' in my original post. Would probably work, was just wondering if there was a way to keep it within a single project.

I would see snippets as the perfect solution in your situation.
