Flare not generating output in onedrive folder

The Documents folder on my laptop points to the onedrive. So instead of C:/Users/shusinghal/documents, I have C:/Users/shusinghal/One Drive - Shubham laptop/documents.

Due to this longer path some of the flare projects (not all) fails to generate the output. It gives the error - Build failed - Cannot find a part of the path. When I copy the flare project outside the onedrive, it works fine. Any solution to this?

Although I can't find a reference to OneDrive in the Flare documenation, as far as I know, storing Flare projects in a cloud folder such as OneDrive is not advisable. Flare projects should always be local. The syncing with a cloud folder that goes on the background is apt to cause issues such as what you're experiencing.

TIP It is recommended that you always store your project locally, rather than on a network. Of course, there may be times when you need to place a copy of your project on a network (e.g., to use source control, or to make a copy available to a co-worker). But performance and speed should be significantly better if you work on a local copy of the project rather than working on it from a remote server.

That same topic advises where to store you projects, too.

TIP You might consider placing your project closer to your root C: drive, or perhaps within that drive itself. This shortens the paths to files, which might help prevent certain issues from arising where paths are too long.

Thanks for t his. We moved our Flare My Projects folder and all associated with it to the C drive where it is not being picked up by OneDrive. OneDrive caused the file-path to be too long and nothing worked. Outside OneDrive it works.
Also, oddly enough, moving to a new drive also cleared up some problems in MadCap Capture.
