Index: Natural ordering of numbers [RESOLVED]

Post by Fiona »

I have several index entries that start with numbers, and I'd like these to appear in the index in natural ordering. Flare seems to use a classical alphanumerical sort by default, and I've not managed to work out how to change this.
  • Classical alphanumerical sort: 1 10 11 12 2 20 21 3 4 5 6 7
  • Natural ordering: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 10 11 12 20 21
Does anyone know how to specify this in the index proxy?

Thanks. Fiona

This has been included in the latest (2024) version of Flare – by default, PDFs now have numbers appearing in the index using natural ordering.

From the list of customer reported bugs that have been fixed in this release: "183194 - Index Entries Sorted with Classical Alphanumerical Order for PDF Output, Index".

What I can't see is whether there's a way to select alphanumeric ordering if that's your preference.
