Hello all,
I am using Madcap Flare 2019 r2 and generating a Side Navigation output.
All topics have a Topic toolbar skin.
This Topic toolbar skin also appears in the Search Results page. And there it doesnt work! Clicking the Previous and Next buttons does not do anything. Clicking the Home button says 'File not found.'
My question is:
1) Is it possible to remove the Topic toolbar from the Search results page?
2) Is it possible to have a different Topic Toolbar for the Search results page with only the Print and Home buttons (and the Home button should work!)
Can anyone help me with this?
Regards
Topic toolbar in Search Results
Re: Topic toolbar in Search Results
Yes to both questions.
(1) If you haven't created your own custom search results page, you need to do that first. Create a topic and insert a search results proxy. See https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare20 ... esults.htm.
* Also make sure your search results page is not excluded from the output. A very common issue is when people use the target setting Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target, as this will remove the search results page (because it is not usually linked to)- so you have to add a link to the search results page from somewhere. See https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare20 ... argets.htm.
(2) Create a new template/master page.
On the template/master page, you can edit the toolbar proxy to choose which buttons to display, or just remove toolbar proxy.
(3) Set your search results page to use this new template/master page.
BTW, the reason Previous and Next don't work is because they move to the previous/next topic in the TOC, and your search results page probably isn't in the TOC (and shouldn't be).
