Hi
I am looking to add ElasticSearch to my Flare Help project.
Conditions:
The Help output is HTML5
The project is built in Flare 2018
The Help is bundled with a desktop application installed locally on the customer's PC
The customer PC may or may not be in a closed network
Questions:
Is it possible to add ElasticSearch with these conditions?
If ElasticSearch is not available as the default search in a closed network, can MadCap search be automatically used by the user as an alternative?
Now the big one. If ElasticSearch can work under the conditions specified and the answers to the questions are yes, how do I implement it?
If there is an alternative product that will work, please let me know.
Thank you in advance

ElasticSearch with Flare has lengthy prerequisites that make it unsuitable for your use case.
Seems like MadCap search is your only option here I'm afraid!

Thanx for the feedback Alex. Do you know of another AI search tool that might be more appropriate?

There are quite a few JavaScript libraries available that provide search on the client/in memory, but I'd suspect they all require at least an intermediate understanding of JS to be able to include them in your project.
https://github.com/nextapps-de/flexsearch looks promising, if you have either the JS knowledge or a developer near you who does!
