Our colleagues have developed a type of eLearning that needs to link out to help topics.

In TriPane, all the link needs to do is identify the .html file path: server/projectfolder/Content/topic.htm.
]
  • The browser opens the topic in a tab with no header, navigation, or search bar - just the topic content.
  • If I wanted to open a new help window, I would have to add index.htm# after the projectfolder/ like this: server/projectfolder/index.htm#Content/topic.htm
In HTML5 SideNav, the same link to the .html file path (server/projectfolder/Content/topic.htm) shows the topic with the whole skin, navigation, header, and search bar.
  • I would prefer not to use snippets or microcontent, only because authors share projects and it would cause confusion to store topic content in a different place.
  • If nobody can think of a way to use a topic link, which would be better for a list of instructions with images - snippet or microcontent?
