Changing the remote respository URL

Hi All,

We're using git, and I've just been advised the remote repository URL is changing slightly.

The MadCap Flare help doesn't mention changing the URL, but I noticed that if I open Source Control > Manage Remotes, if I make a small change in the Remote Repository field then the New button changes to Save.

Does anyone know if this works? That is, I make this change, then I can continue to push and pull my project as normal?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming nothing is changing to the content and it's a straight URL swap it should be fine as all the history is contained in the repo. I'd definitely make sure you've committed any pending work to a branch and pushed/published that branch first though, just in case.

Thanks for that. We went ahead with it and it seems to have worked fine. At least, nothing has blown up so far. :)

And yes, from our view, it was just a change to the root URL and otherwise the repo was identical.

I can also confirm that some changes to the local repo pushed successfully after the URL change, in case anyone else has such a switch pulled on them out of the blue.
