Flare keeps prompting for Username/Password when trying to push to repo

Post by jscalfani »

Trying to help out a co-worker. They recently came back from sabbatical and received a new AD password from IT. Using Flare she can pull down from the GIT repo but when she goes to push to the repo it just keeps prompting her for username and password. She can log into windows with the username/password and she can log into TFS where the GIT repo is stored with no issues. I have already had her remove the GIT entry from Windows Credential Manager and also had her remove all numbered folders in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MadCap Software\Flare\.

I have already had her open a ticket with Madcap for help but have not heard back yet. What else can she try? Is there something else in the registry to get rid of?

Do they have Git for Windows installed? You can check if so and if Flare is using it in File > Options (cog) > Source Control.

If you it isn't installed then follow the link from Flare to download the latest version and install it with all default options except when you get to Choosing HTTPS transport backend select Use the native Windows Secure Channel library.
