No PDF bookmarks with paragraph headings

Post by Matze »

Hi all,
I´ve some paragraph headings in addition to the regular headings, such as p.heading1 (additionally to h1).

When generating the PDF these paragraph headings have no bookmarks within the PDFs in the PDF window. The bookmark window is blank.

So, I guess that flare has automatically collected all headings or is there a way to define which style becomes PDF bookmark or not.
Long time in the past if you remember :) in the time of framemaker, quark express and indesign I could define which format style becomes PDF bookmark in PDF....

I think Flare uses headings to generate the bookmarks automatically.

So I suppose you could specify the appropriate mc-heading-level for each of the p headings you need. Although I think that would affect your TOC, if you have one in the pdf, which you might not want.

Otherwise, there are some promising sounding settings under PDF options: Include non-TOC bookmarks in the bookmarks pnae, and Create named destinations for bookmarks. And I've never used them myself, but something to investigate. This also might not be suitable if you have a lot of p headings you need to add bookmarks to.

Can I ask why you have p.Heading1 as well as regular heading 1? If there's no reason other than "that's how it came in from Word", then the most robust solution would be to change them to regular heading 1.
