Error building project after import

Post by Pamb10 »

I recently imported a large Word document. After manipulating many topic files into folders, I attempted to build the project. I recieved the following error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index

Any ideas on how to determine what is cause the problem?

Save Log is not available after error occurs.

Thanks.

Guess I figured it out. Turns out my TOC was empty! :)

Glad you found a fix!

Sometimes, when the solution is not so obvious, closing and restarting Flare will fix "index out of bounds" type errors. Of course, if there's a physical reaqson for an out of bounds you'll have to fix that first.

I got this error also, but I have a nice TOC, so that's not my problem. What were your other possibilities?

When the error message appears, what's the last thing in the compiler window that appears? What file, that is? That should direct you to where the problem is. Or does the error appear immediately after you tell it to start building?

The error appears after the compiler has been working for a while. It seems that it is going to compile, and then this error appears and the process aborts.

What are the last few lines (messages) that appear in the compiler window when the error appears?

Code: Select all

I recently imported a large Word document. After manipulating many topic files into folders, I attempted to build the project. I recieved the following error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index

Any ideas on how to determine what is cause the problem?

I am having a similar problem with a project that was imported from a Word document. The project compiles but when I attempt to delete extraneous rows from the table, I get the "index was out or range" message. The tables in the topic files look strange with a weird symbol. If I look at the code, it looks like the rows are overlapping.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks
