I'm not defending any browser. But I think we can agree that adhering to the W3C standard is a good thing. But that will never be achieved if we continue to bend and break the rules just to please someone or some company. And I would tell exactly that to the head of the department. If that person cannot understand and support that then either I am or she/he is in the wrong company or position.
And a green light only means that one has the right to cross the street. It is not a mandate.....unlike standards.
