Want to change "HTML Help" title (as viewed compliled)
Want to change "HTML Help" title (as viewed compliled)
Once the project is compiled, the outter most frame is titled "HTML Help". How do I go about changing this title?
Thanks!

Open the Basic tab in the Skin editor and enter the desired text in the Caption field.

I did that but some how that field was blank when I went back to look at it. That's the second project where I enter the caption and the field goes blank prior to compile.
I tried it again, this time double checking to make sure the caption field remained filled in and it worked.

I have had the same problem. It seems that if you just change one field and save, it does not recognize the change. Tab or click out of the field, and an asterisk will show next to the file name on the title bar. Saving will then take effect. I reported it as a bug soon after I began using Flare.

If all else fails, open the skin in the internal text editor and add a Title="Title Of Your Help System" attribute to the CatapultSkin element. Works for me.

I've tried al the solutions for solving the problem with the HTML HELP title but none works for me. Has anyone an other solution?

Hi, Rob,
It may be that there is a mismatch between the primary language of your help file and that of the computer on which you're viewing it. When this is the case, the help viewer automatically replaces your chosen title bar text with "HTML Help", as described in this article:
http://helpware.net/FAR/far_faq.htm#WindowTitle
If this is really an issue for you, you can usually overcome the problem by setting the language of your help file to US English.

Thanks for all the help.
I finally got it working. I've now the following checklist to make it work.
1. Fill in the caption field on the Skin -> basic tab
2. Select OS language in targets->Microsoft HTML Help
3. Select the skin with the correct caption field in Targets->Microsoft HTML help->Basic
And make sure that your changes have been saved.

I tried doing this in my french help file but the caption still did not change. I am working in vista and set the os to french and though the rest of the interface shows up in french, the caption title does not become what I want.

Is this a French OS or is the language set to French? It needs to be on a French OS

In Vista, I change the language by going to Control Panel and selecting Change display language, then in the Regional and Languages options dialog box, I select the keyboards and Languages tab.
Then in the Display Languages Section, I select French from the drop down menu.
This is the only way I know of changing my system's language. I thought that this selection would change the OS language to french.

That changes the OS language to French, but it by far doesn't make it a french Windows. There are unexplainable differences between the language versions of Windows. French Windows is pretty bad, Turkish windows is like a different OS. So you need to a real French Vista....or better no Vista at all.
