Is there a known problem with the KB Quick Search not working for some people? Doesn't do a thing when I enter a phrase and prese Enter or click the Quick Search icon. But the Search bar on the left does work.

Quick Search only searches the topic you're currently viewing (like doing Edit > Find in this Page in the browser). The Search accordion button searches the entire site.
