context-sensitive help issue w/RoboHelp import

Post by lisab »

Hello - I just imported a large RoboHelp file into Flare, and was very happy to find that the context-sensitive IDs came along with it. The Flare-generated CHM looks great, but when I link to pages from the application itself, the style of the page is wrong and all of the graphics are missing. Clearly, I'm missing a few steps, but can't find anything in the documentation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums.

When you copied the files to your server, or wherever you're testing from, did you include the default_CSH.htm file (or whatever the _CSH.htm file is called when you compile the output)? Also, did you set up your application to call the default_CSH.htm file, or the default.htm file?

If it's CHMs you are using this sounds more like a problem with display for which there is now a patch. What version are you using? The following patch is for v3:

http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/default_csh.htm#PATF3103

There are also a few threads about this in the HTML section of this forum.

If you have the patch applied, check your Target on the Advanced tab. You'll need to CLEAR the option to use the stylesheet patch.
(Top of tab: Output Options > clear checkbox: Patch stylesheet and image links ...)

FYI - I have imported many RH projects with CSH and it worked no problem in CHMs.
