I've had various levels of luck selecting material in the XML editing window. I'll find that when I go to copy it or delete it that I've missed some part of the structure.
I've found that the only way to ensure that I've selected all elements of an item is to find the highest level of the item in the blocks area, right click, and select it. I can then successfully copy or delete that item entirely. Is there a way to select multiple items in the block area?
For instance I have a series of dropdowns that I want to cut from one topic and paste in another. I've found that I've had to select each dropdown and copy, paste, and delete. I'd like to select one dropdown, add another to the selection, etc. until they are all in the same selection and move the group of them together.
There's probably another way to do this and I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!
Selecting multiple items in the blocks area
Re: Selecting multiple items in the blocks area
I'm requested something similar in the past and I'm sure others have, too. Make sure you submit a request at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.
In the meantime, it might be easier if you float the destination topic and temporarily dock it to the right pane -- that way you have both topics open side-by-side. You'll still have to select/copy/paste each drop-down block, but it might be slightly easier to keep track of which drop-downs you still have to copy over.

Thanks for the suggestion Lisa. That does make it a little easier. I will submit a request for this feature.
