I don't know if this very fundamental matter has been addressed in this forum before. I did look. If it has been talked about, please let me know and I'll go away.
I want to add white space below tables.
To do this I added
50pt
in the padding-bottom column of the table style.
In the MadCap Flare editor, after save all, the white space appears below all tables and the table structure bar associated with each table extends well below the table itself. However when I publish the WebHelp document, neither Internet Explorer 7 nor Firefox 2.0.0.14 shows the space.
Do you think that this a MadCap Flare issue or something to do with browsers?

Re: Tables and padding
What happens if you change it to a Margin-bottom instead?
Until next time....

Re: Tables and padding
As far as I can see, there is no margin-bottom heading.
Re: Tables and padding
Padding-bottom controls how much space you have from the bottom of the table to the content in the table. Margin-bottom changes how much space is between the table and whatever item follows. So margin-bottom is the property you want to change.
You set the margin-bottom property for the <table> tag in the main stylesheet, not the table stylesheet. It's in the "box" category of properties when "Show:Property Groups" is selected and when in Advanced view.

Re: Tables and padding
Make sure that you have the stylesheet editor set to Show: Property Groups rather than Show: Assorted Relevant Properties. That will show all of the available settings.
Until next time....

Re: Tables and padding
I was looking at the style sheet with Show Table Styles selected. There was no margin-bottom column on offer. In view of what you said, I changed the view to Show All Styles and looked again at the table style. margin-bottom was there. So I changed back to Show Table Styles and margin-bottom was still there.
Anyway, I have assigned a value to margin-bottom and I now rejoice in the white space that has appeared under each table.
Thank you all.
