I have an unlinked book in my Browse Sequence Editor. This is what it looks like:
It is an imported sequence, so I rebuilt it. I dragged over from the Content Editor all the topics I need and relinked them all. The red mark still won't go away.
Any hints, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.

Is the book itself linked to a topic? If not, that's why the exclamation point is there.
Until next time....

Well, no. It isn't. That's how I set it up in RoboHelp. I am more than willing to do things the Flare way. When in Rome....KevinDAmery wrote:Is the book itself linked to a topic? If not, that's why the exclamation point is there.
So, pray tell, how do I go about removing the book without removing the underlying topics?
I hope there's a happy answer here.

Re: Unlinked book in Browse Sequence Editor
It isn't illegal to have a book with no linked topic--however, it does mean that you can't link someone directly to the book. If the book doesn't have a topic, when a user clicks on it they automatically get the first topic below it in the sequence. Another ramification is that breadcrumbs may not work directly (again, because one level of breadcrumb doesn't have anything to link to).
What I usually do is create a short introductory topic to link the book topics to (along the lines of "Here's what this section will discuss, here are links to all the topics included" yada yada yada). But again, having an empty book isn't inherently wrong, so as long as you're not driven crazy by having an exclamation point there you can just ignore it if you prefer.

What is that little red icon for an unlinked item supposed be, anyway? It looks kind of like a tick. And yes, it was driving me crazy. I am picky and detailed by nature, so that had to go.

I think it's an exclamation mark with a flashing light. Or something like that...
