Hi,
I am using FM 7.0 and Flare 3.1. I am trying to import a book and I get this error,"Out of Memory". The import process stops thereafter. I have opted not to preserve the FM styles and have not mapped them also.
I closed all the other applications and Flare was the only active application.
Can anybody please let me know the reason?

Importing FrameMaker files
Re: Importing FrameMaker files
I once got this error because of a single TIFF file. I converted it to PNG, then everything proceeded normally. I think this pops up somewhere else in the forums as well.
Re: Importing FrameMaker files
Hi,
I doubt this is the case as I have already imported a FM project which has .Tiff files. The only difference is that this time I have opted not to preserve the FM styles and have not mapped them also.

Re: Importing FrameMaker files
It could still be the specific tiff files you are now trying to import. Tiffs are funny files because there are a wide range of things people can do in the format and it's still a tiff. But not all tiffs are created equal.
So it could be something to do with how the specific one was made that's upsetting the import. I'm not saying it's anything you did, it's how the program that created the tiff decided to do something.
My recommendation is to save the problem tiff as something else and see if that helps. If you don't know which the problem tiff is, look for one that is very complex or has a lot of text in it. In my experience, the complex graphics or the ones with lots of text are most likely to be a problem.

Hi Sharon and Ed
Thanks for the helpful tip. I converted the tiff files to png and the import went smoothly.
