How to import one Flare project into another
Re: How to import one Flare project into another
it should work i've done something similar in my projects as well. Once the links are set up, Flare's link correction is pretty robust, as long as you choose to update links everytime you move things around. There 'are' scenarios where you might not want to update the links.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

How would I get into the code to do that? Right now I have to hover over the image to see where the link is pointing to.lacastle wrote:would it be horrible to just go through all the "imported" topics and manually update the links?

Right-click on the picture and select Edit Picture. Then change/browse for the file name.ccardimon wrote:How would I get into the code to do that? Right now I have to hover over the image to see where the link is pointing to.

Re: How to import one Flare project into another
You can right click on a topic and open it in the internal text editor. From there you can make the changes manually if you want (though it would be a pain). But it would be easier to right click on the image in the topic and make the change in the properties.
You might be able to automate it using a find and replace on the part of the path that's incorrect, but I would be very careful about doing that: if it's just a couple of layers in the path that are incorrect, you may end up changing things that you don't want (like the paths in hyperlinks, for example) and make a bigger mess.

Until next time....

Re: How to import one Flare project into another
Thank you. It is working. I sure fouled up those links when I copied them from one folder to another in Windows Explorer. Here's an example:lacastle wrote:Right-click on the picture and select Edit Picture. Then change/browse for the file name.ccardimon wrote:How would I get into the code to do that? The broken link went from:
file:///C:/My Files/My Projects/Virtual Genesys User Guide RH/Content/Virtual Genesys User Guide/Resources/Images/Virtual Genesys Batch Top Menu.jpg
To:
file:///C:/My Files/My Projects/Virtual Genesys User Guide RH/Content/Resources/Images/Virtual Genesys Batch Top Menu.jpg
I got an extra folder name in there somehow.

As am I. Thank you. I wish I knew what I did wrong. I would make a note to NOT do it again. GRIN.lacastle wrote:i'm glad we figured it out.
