Best practices: Creating Topics by Importing Word Documents

I am planning to deal with problem I'm having with my parent/child project, and the problem I'm having outputting merged projects to Word (since Flare does not currently support this), by importing the child project into the parent as a Word document.

Are there any best practices for doing this?

If someone has hints, tips, or suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I wouldn't do it that way, to be honest. If both projects are in Flare, it'll work a lot smoother if you just copy the child topics into the parent project (or, to really be safe, a copy of the parent project) and create a TOC that incorporates all the topics. This way all of the topics will already be using the proper master pages, stylesheets, etc. so the amount of post-processing required should be a lot lower than it would be when importing from a Word document.
