Source Control - Problem(s) with background thread

Hi there.
I'm trying to bind a new project with SourceSafe but I keep getting this error when I try to add files.

I already have one project that works properly, so I don't know what's happened here.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your help Eddie. You had the right idea.
I thought you'd like to know that our IT department had changed the folder names. Everything worked properly when they changed it back.
One of the R&D guys says IT people do this when they want to test if particular folders are being used. They change the name and if no one complains...

Now, why the IT guys don't just look at the last modified dates on the files instead of screwing around with people's work is beyond me....

No kidding. And how long do they wait before they decide no one is using the folders to delete them? Just because you're not working on something now doesn't mean you won't be working on it in three months or six months or whatever. And we have customers that may let a year or two go by before they restart a project. I think you need to have a serious talk with the IT manager.

Our IT guys sends out notifications when file server space runs low and we then make a concerted effort to clean up. Anything left after that is considered to be business relevant and the IT guy would not even dare to delete any of it. One other helpful measure is to allow for local backup storage. Large USB drives with 500GB capacity go for under 100$ these days and for something that is not impossible to replace, but would cause a lot of headache and also for stuff you want to keep, but that isn't that important (the bazillion of project backups from years ago) this is sufficient.
