I know it's some silly setting I've overlooked, but here's the trouble:
I've got a project containing several movies. I need to add a frame to one. If I use the Record New Frame or Capture New Frame option, the added frame is bloated and blurred, like a bad closeup. Here's a clue: the frame is focused on a smaller region than are the other frames in the movie, so before recording, I have to crop down the region; nonetheless, shouldn't the frame turn out as clearly as the others?

Re: Blurred Capture
The frames need to be all the same size and the background needs to fill the entire frame. So if for one frame the background is smaller it will get stretched to fit the entire frame. My guess that what it makes it look not so great. If you add another frame the region needs to be the same as for the existing frames.

That's kind of what I figured, but it's nice to have my figuring confirmed. Thanks.

Re: Blurred Capture
Well, it sort of has to be that way. Otherwise you either get black (or other colored) frames around the background or the player window has to resize, which is not possible on a web page for example. What you can do is come up with a background that suits your needs, for example show something else around it (such as a black frame) and make it so that the main background is sized as desired, but everything together fits the frame size. You may want to add some transition to it so that it looks less jumpy when it plays. I hope I explained it somewhat understandably.

Re: Blurred Capture
Though I'm not entirely clear, I get the idea (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong): once a movie has been created, the dimensions for those particular frames are set in stone--meaning, if you later add a frame focused on a region that is smaller than the regions presented in the previous frames, the image will be distorted.

Yes, exactly. I think you can change the frame size afterwards, but that shifts only the issue from the new frames to the old frames, but I vaguely recall that one has the option to either resize or crop the background images.
