Is there a way to create an alphabetic list for the index

This forum is for all Flare issues related to the Microsoft HTML Help target.
This target produces "CHM" files in the output.

Is there a way to create an alphabetic list for the index

Post by tylerc »

Our index is getting quite large and am interested in creating an alphabetic list (series of linked characters, each separated by a space. i.e. A B C etc.) that would display at the top of the index (before any numbers or text) or in addition to the index's initial page? :?:
Thanks!

Hi!
I don't think there's a way to do it. An alphabetic list of with links for each index keyword organized by alphabets. Its the method used in some webhelp systems. IMHO not a fan of that method....

even if it is large, i always thought that accessing it in Flare's implementation was easiest. Typing the first alphabet in the box would immediately give you the first character of all related keywords. IMHO i thought that is one of the most efficient way of finding keyword index entries in a help system. If i type another character, the list is filtered even more, a third character , more sooo...etc.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release
