I place a lot of small bitmaps within blank frames (more than I'd like to; sometimes I have to capture a small region, and copying and pasting the generated bitmaps is the only way I've found to maintain the dimensions of the project).
Then I think of a small change I'd like to make to a particular bitmap. I still have the bitmap files, but there are hundreds -- and the properties of a placed graphic don't tell me the original name. A lot of them are similar in appearance. If the placed graphic properties included original object name, that would save a lot of tedium.
Even an "Open in Mimic" option would help. The point is, I don't see a way to edit an image once it's been placed, and I don't see a way to identify the source of the image. Either would help.

That's because he had a slight misspelling (mapcap instead of madcap). The address is http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.

Re: Feature request -- more information on placed images
I recently submitted a feature request around images in documents as well. I suggested a right-click option that would say "Locate image in Content Explorer" (like you have for the topic when you click the button on the toolbar.)
If you think this is a useful idea, you should also submit a feature request.
