I've got a big project I've imported from Frame (8) into Flare (3.1) in separate projects. Then I merged them all under the main beginning project file and all went fine. The problem is that the cross references (that were made in Frame) work fine within each individual project but they do not work when the reference is made to a section of text in one of the other projects. I thought this would be fixed when I merged them all under the master project (they're now sub-projects and the TOC and help all looks great) but the cross references made from one to another are still not working (i.e. completely dead text; clicking it results in nothing).
Is there a workaround for this? We're on a tight deadline but I'm beginning to wonder if it's just not possible to get the cross references to work between these sub-projects. They all work fine in Frame. Also, I did not import the Frame book as it resulted in so many errors and problems that I followed the standard practice set forth by my precedents here and imported each Frame book document separately. Thanks for any suggestions out there!
Cross references between imported/merged sub-projects
Re: Cross references between imported/merged sub-projects
You can include links between merged projects (not sure about cross-references though), but they're a bit of a pain to set up though.
There's some info about this in Flare's help, e.g.:
User Interface Elements - How to Use Each One > Link to Help System Dialog
Features > Navigation Links > External Links > Inserting Links to Files in External Projects
If you're using WebHelp, you'll find a few topics in these forums about it, e.g.

Generally speaking, merging projects works fine if the projects are largely individual. If you have a lot of links between your merged projects, then combining all the content from your separate projects into one large project may be easier. Of course, this all depends on whether these projects need to be separate, e.g. if they need to be re-imported or updated on an individual basis.
