Hi,
I have downloaded Feedback Server trial but it doesn’t install at all for me.
I get this error:
“Problems in background thread: Create failed for Database ‘MadCapFeedbackServer’. [Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.FailedOperationException]â€
I have Windows XP Pro SP 3, SQL Server 2005 , .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5
My SQL Server is a standard installation.
The error looks like it might be a permissions thing, but I can’t see anything in documentation or knowledge base?
Thanks

Hi Alec
Welcome to the forums.
Can't answer specifically, but I had a similar problem with Analyzer. You have to install the version of SQL Server the app specifies - if you have the full version it may not work, install what Feeddback Server has as it's prereqs.
Once you've done that you're right, unless you're running Vista in non-admin. In that case you have to open the SQL Server surface configuaration tool and add the logged in user to the admin group.

And you usually have to give the user also write access to the data folder. Vista is a total nightmare. You got to bend over backwards just to get Microsoft's commodity software to work. Prevent using Vista at any price otherwise this junk will never go away.

Its a trial version that I'm trying to install so that I can evaluate the product. It seems that I can't open a ticket unless I have a maintenance number.Richard Ferrell wrote:I would open a support ticket by using the following form.

The documentation says it works with SQL 2005 standard edition, and that is what I have...SteveS wrote:
