Creating a Quick Reference Guide

Post by ccardimon »

Has anyone produced a Quick Reference Guide or Quick Start Guide or "Cheat Sheet" of a larger manual using Flare?

If so, did you build your own templates, or import from elsewhere?

This article was the one from which I got my inspiration:

You can create "sub" manuals of your existing topics using conditional tags - either on content or whole topics. If you create a seperate TOC (Flare) you can just add the topics you want and apply different masterpages to change the layout.

If you want to make it look like Tom's examples you'll need to check out Blaze (and hopefully Flare IV) to get columns etc.

Thanks, Steve. Makes sense.

By the way, my wife loves your e-signature and agrees completely. I had to email it to her. She loves her chocolate and red wine.

Tiny exceptions: She would substitute tea for coffee, and I would substitute dirty martinis for red wine. GRIN.

We use this to create one page System requirement sheets.
for multiple products all from one project.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release
