If I am simply typing in text to a topic, right-click and select insert a hyperlink, do the 'stuff' on that screen - push OK, and then continue to type text the hyperlink seems to "continue". I have the underline just like my new text is a continuation of the hyperlink.
How do you 'stop' the hyperlink, or perhaps in other words switch back to regular text? I have tried pushing the little 'p' and 'reset class' which don't seem to take me out of the hyperlink mode.
My work-around is the type a few junk characters and then insert the hyperlink inbetween them. After placing the hyperlink, I then delete the junk characters.
Thanks much...
How to insert a hyperlink and continue typing along
Re: How to insert a hyperlink and continue typing along
It depends on how you position the cursor at the end of the hyperlink. The cursor's appearance changes depending on if you're inside a tag (between the <a> and </a> tags in this case) or if you're outside of the tag. It takes a little bit to get used to. I still occasionally have my cursor in the wrong spot and inadvertently duplicate the entire paragraph or fail to be able to do anything.
One of the other MVPs, andyR, has a blog where he describes the different cursor appearances. The Flare help may have something, too, but I don't have Flare running at the moment. The relevant section of Andy's blog is at http://techwritetips.wordpress.com/2006 ... ml-editor/.

Re: How to insert a hyperlink and continue typing along
Thanks for the info.
Perhaps that was my problem. I was just typing along and not positioning the cursor. I did not expect that after inserting a hyperlink one had to move the cursor into order to continue typing.
The problem is not consistant, but seems to occur when editing existing content.

I usually just type and then go back and highlight the specific words that I want to hyperlink.

Hi! Does anyone know what happened to AndyR's techwritetips site? it used to contain some of the most original stuff and writings on Flare and some of the advanced tech comm tools in the planet.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

It's still there (http://techwritetips.wordpress.com/). He just hasn't updated it in awhile. He might have switched jobs and no longer has access to Flare or he's just too busy.
