Action to send an email?

Post by aignacio »

Hi,

I have a quick question! I have an introduction image from our graphics team and on the image, I defined a transparent rectangle over a part of the image that opens a website URL when it is clicked. There is also text for our company email on the image. Is there an option to define an area that you can use as a "mail to" action?

Thanks!

It should be the same as making a website come up, except instead of http://www.google.com you put mailto:google@google.com to open in a user's default mail software.

Great! Does anyone know if there is a way to customize the subject name also?

Thanks!

Just keep in mind that there are limitations for each of the components such as subject and body as well as limitations to how long the entire string is. It usually doesn't allow for more than just a one liner with a short subject. What might be better is to make a URL call to a web page that contains a PHP script that handles the messaging.

Is there any way to automatically pull the topic header as the subject heading for the email?

For instance, I'm currently working on a handbook.

If people have questions about our documentation process, I'd like to give them a link - that automatically formats the subject heading to "Question from the <topic> documentation" so that my SMEs know what they are referring to.

You could hyperlink to an email and it will allow you to include a subject.
