Creating a table around bunched up data

Post by ccardimon »

I had a table in Word. It imported as a bunch of crap. It looks something like this:

AAABBBCCC
DDDEEEFFF

I would like to create a table around this data so that the rows and columns of data look something like this:

AAA BBB CCC

DDD EEE FFF

Is there a way to make this happen?

33 views and not a single answer? That has never happened before.

I guess there isn't a way to make this particular thing happen.

Sigh.

Is that even possible in Word? You usually have to have some sort of paragraph, tab, comma, etc. to separate the letters/words.

It may be possible to do something with find and replace using regular expressions, but when you take into account all the <tr> and <td> tags that would be involved the code would be pretty heinous.

I think you'd be better off to just manually make a table and copy / paste the content into the appropriate cells. It's tedious work, but at least you can be sure it won't blow up on you.
Until next time....

Hmmm....I sure don't want it blowing up on me. That would suck.
