Relative Size of the output Window

Post by benone »

Hi ,
As i was working with webhelp output and when changed Size of the output window(From Skin >> Size) wrt to my screen size(1680x1050 pxl) it was ok.But when the same output viewd with a screen size(1024x768pxl) the output was going beyond right side of the screen.

These are the dimensions i gave in Size option

Now the question is, i want a relative size which will have the desired output , and will be same on any screen.
Is this possible.?

Thnx in advance
Cheers! Chris

Hmm that's an interesting question...never quite achieved it. perhaps someone else with experience.

I configure mine to work optimally in 800X600 as much as possible. although most will probably say you its okay to spec out the Window dimension for 1024 X768...alternatively you can set the skin to remember the previous window position opened?
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

No, there's no way to set it to, say, 80% screen width x 80% screen height. I'd like that too.

Instead of worry about the start size, I set it to use the browser settings. So it'll open the help at the same size the user last had their browser set. It's less intrusive and noticeable. Less intrusive because it doesn't resize the user's browser, and less noticeable because if you specify a start size and it's quite a bit different than how the user last had their browser, then you'll see the browser resize on screen, which to me doesn't look that elegant.
