Project Analysis all wrong!

Post by Centauri27 »

To me, one of the more exciting new features in Flare 4 is the Project Analyzer. It was sorely needed. But when I run it, the results are all wrong! It lists topics that it claims are not in the TOC, yet I've verified that they are indeed in the target TOC. It also fingers topics with broken links, yet those links work perfectly fine. And it identifies topics that it claims have no index keywords, yet these topics are rife with keywords.

What gives? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug in the feature?

Thanks.

If you delete the analyzer folder in your project and then let it rescan does it show the same results.

After deleting the Analyzer folder and rescanning, the "topics not in the TOC" report is mostly accurate, but it still misidentifies topics that are in the TOC. The other reports--broken links and topics not in the index, are still way off.

I would recommend that you open a support ticket. This is something that we want to look at.

Do the broken links also come up when you compile? I've noticed that if you try to overwrite one link with another, at times the one "underneath" doesn't entire go away, and shows up as a broken link.

No, the broken links do not come up during compilation. This is probably because there are no actual broken links in those topics. But something keeps tripping up the analysis for whatever reason.

I am having the same problem with Flare 6. Many topics listed in the "Topics Not in TOC" report are actually showing up in my TOC. Deleting the Analyzer folder and previous reports in the Report folder and regenerating the report returned the same results.
