In the example below, the J is vertically centered on the paragraph. I would rather it be flush with the top of the paragraph. Any ideas on how to do this? If it helps, this only happens in my WebHelp output and not in my direct to PDF output. Also, I'm using v. 4.0.

Re: Auto Number Vertically Centered
I just realized the code for the applied style might help the conversation along.
Code: Select all
h1
{
font-weight: bold;
font-family: Verdana;
font-size: 15pt;
mc-auto-number-position: outside-head;
mc-auto-number-offset: .30in;
margin-left: .30in;
margin: .30in;
margin-bottom: .10in;
margin-right: 0;
margin-top: 0;
page-break-inside: avoid;
page-break-after: avoid;
mc-heading-level: 2;
mc-hyphenate: never;
mc-auto-number-format: 'G1:{ }{A+}. { =0}{ =0}{ =0}{ =0}{ =0}';
mc-leader-align: inherit;
}Re: Auto Number Vertically Centered
Is it appearing lowered just in the XML Editor, or in the output as well? I see a similar effect when I insert a snippet block into a numbered list item; it looks off in the XML Editor but appears correctly in the Preview window and the output.
You might also check that leader-align property. Is there a "top" option for that property? Inherit just means it'll inherit its value from the parent and the default/set value for the parent may be middle or text-middle or something like that.

Re: Auto Number Vertically Centered
The screen shot is from the WebHelp output. The only options for mc-leader-align are center, inherit, left, and right. There isn't an option for top or bottom. I'm not sure what that option means and it is only set to inherit because I was messing with hoping, like you, that it was the answer to my problem. Doesn't seem to be.
Re: Auto Number Vertically Centered
Actually, I came across that property on something else. That property refers to things like the TOC proxy where the page numbers are separated from the titles by some type of leader (generally a decimal ".") and the property indicates whether the leader should be right aligned or left aligned. Not sure where it would inherit from.
In your H1 styles, under Block, try setting the vertical-align property to "top" (it's an alternative to "Length").
