Missing linked source file: - BSSCDHTM.js

Post by Techno »

Having imported an RH-X5 project, I've manged to sort out all errors with the exception of a number, like the one below, which which refer to a missing BSSCDHTM.js file in one or more folders.

Missing linked source file: C:\Users\George.TECHNO-VISION\Documents\My Projects\DBT Helpfiles\Content\BSSCDHTM.js Compiler C:\Users\George.TECHNO-VISION\Documents\My Projects\DBT Helpfiles\Content\working_with_word\editing_mws.htm

Has anyone any ideas how to resolve?

If I recall correctly, this file is a RH special and not used by Flare. I propose to make a copy of the project first just to be sure, then rip out all the occurrences where this file is referenced. That should do the trick.

That's a Robohelp Scripting file, Flare doesn't need it, and your help should still compile even with the missing file.

Many thanks. Problem resolved by removing the offending lines. It would be nice if Flare's RH importer got rid of them for you - one less thing for the new user to get worried about.

The problem is that Flare has no idea what the BSSCDHTM.js script does. It could be your own that you just happened to name like that. I'm sure you'd be less than thrilled if Flare just rips it out and you need to put it back in. The chances of that are slim, I agree, but it is more a fundamental decision to leave any references to js files untouched I guess.
