How to copy and paste table data from Word into Flare?

I've seen some 'interesting' things happening when I try and copy table data from MS Word into pre-prepared (blank) tables having the same number of columns and rows in Flare V3.1. It's not working like MS Word or other table editors - so how to go about it?

I can't be expected to copy and paste each cell can I?

Flare 3.1 and earlier didn't respect the original formatting when copying. This has been addressed in Flare 4 (although I haven't tested it personally).

If you aren't upgrading to Flare 4 in the near future, what I would recommend is to use a Word import to bring the table in rather than copying and pasting.

Ah, that's better. Not 100% perfect, but much more like it - Thanks very much Kevin.

I'll also give 4.0 a go to see if it can do it by table by table.

[We tend to hang-back from using new releases in earnest until any initial glitches are found - but 4.0 looks to have a number of very useful Print Documentation features that would be of direct use to us]

When I copy and paste multiple table rows and columns from Word into a blank Flare 4 table, nothing appears in the Flare table. If I copy an individual cell, all is fine. I just expanded upon the suggestions above and came up with this:

1. Make a Flare table with the correct rows/columns and stylesheet assigned.
2. Copy the Word cells (rows/columns).
3. In a new Flare paragraph (.p), paste the cells. Select "Paste as a table".
4. Copy and paste the new cells into the target table.

This seems to work.
