Hi There;
I have a mimic project that contains several movies. I have set up buttons that should have the project go to another section when clicked on but they don't seem to be working. For example, I have a "Course Map" that should take you to the various sections of the project when you click on the buttons but nothing is happening with them. I selected the section names from the drop-down list on the action tab, so it shouldn't be a syntax problem. I thought this might be an issue with preview mode but it doesn't work in the compiled project output either. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Regards,
Helen
Button Action "Go to Section" not working
Re: Button Action "Go to Section" not working
This isn't working for me either. I have Mimic 4 and Flash 10. Works fine in Mimic Movie player but as soon as I compile it to Flash output, the buttons go nowhere.
At this point I'm going ot have to refer the user to the section drop down - not the ideal solution. I would appreciate any ideas.
Thanks

Re: Button Action "Go to Section" not working
Hi Helen,
Welcome (belatedly) to the forums
If the buttons work using the Mimic viewer but not in Flash it is a bug.
Bugs can be reported Here.
I'm getting a bit annoyed with Flash at the moment - they still haven't released a 64bit version.

I am having this issue as well. In addition to the buttons inside the movie not working, my top navigation buttons (next frame, prev frame, etc) also don't seem to work as well.

Re: Button Action "Go to Section" not working
Hi,
I also have this problem. I thought it would be solved in version 4. You can solve it on a temporary basis by using the Security Settings on the Adobe site. The Go to Next Section (or specified section) and the navigation buttons should then both work.
To do this:
Start the Flash movie.
Right click and select Settings. (I have a Dutch browser so I hope this is what it says in English)
You then get a little dialog box. Click on the question mark. This takes you to the Flash site.
You can then click on the Global Security Settings option on the left hand side.
Click the pop-up menu and select Add Location.
The Add Location box opens.
Add an individual file or the folder containing the flash films. If you add an entire directory, all the files and subdirectories in that directory are trusted.
Click Confirm (not sure if you have to do this - this bit is taken from the Adobe site).
This should then always work for the location selected. You don't have to be coneected to internet for it to work once you have set it up. Of course if you change the location of the movies, you will have to redo the settings - and also memory sticks are annoying as the drive letter may also change.
Hope this helps.
