Background Images

I saw a thread about this that was started (and ended) about a year ago. I have tried everything I saw in that thread and I am
still having the problem.

I want to put a faint image on my first page. I have used the div class to accomplish this. (I should also warn you I am a brand new user, so really struggling to find my way around). It shows up in the development environment but not after I compile.

Frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

OK I solved my own problem, it was the image... wasn't rgb... Now if I could just get it positioned correctly....
