Google Analytics with WebHelp

Post by phanna »

Hi there,

We are using Google Analytics to track traffic to our Online Help system (created with Flare 4.0.16). The analytics are working correctly however, when users try to view the help, they get a Runtime error claiming there's a syntax problem. The error only occurs if their browser is set to display a notification for every script error and to debug every script error.
Most customer won't have both of these settings but some might.

Has anyone run into this before?
Thanks,
Paula :?

I have under different circumstances, but only with IE, which is the worst "browser" ever anyway. I haven't found any answer to that issue as it all comes down to IE not working right. There could be means to counter that by adding IE-specific special code, but I never saw the reason to fix this as it applies to only a few people (as you mentioned as well). I kinda think they deserve the annoyance for using IE. :D

Our Knowledge base also uses Google Analytics but we have had no reports of this issue.

Hi Richard,

That's interesting (and cool) that you use Google Analytics for the kbase. That must use frames as well, right? If so, where do you put your analytics code?
