Hi there,
now that I try to use the shortcut control to open another help topic in its own help window that's the situation:
1. I entered text in the XML editor and selected it.
2. I inserted a shortcut control (insert | help control | shortcut control) and edited the link.
=>
The text is gone ... It's visible in the preview, in the help and in the source code, but not in the XML editor. Do I really have to edit the text in the source code?
And shortcut links on pictures mean that you cannot even edit the picture in the source code - a picture is gone completely ...
Is there a workaround I'm missing or should I post a bug report?

Shortcut control swallows the object that contains the link?
Re: Shortcut control swallows the object that contains the link?
It has reached an even more remarkable stage, but I have found a workaround now:
I make a snippet out of such a shortcut, because we will need those shortcut links in a number of places. But if I insert that snippet I cannot see anything ... really nothing to see!
Luckily those shortcut links don't need to be inline snippets but will be used as block snippets only. That gives me that solution:
I inserted the text that is INSIDE the shortcut link into a separate paragraph in the snippet and assign a class ".invisible" to that paragraph (medium default: display: block; medium screen: display: none;).
Each time I insert that snippet I see the text in the XML editor - as intended.
This is the source code of the snippet:

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do, but if you're trying to hide the text, then instead of setting the display to none, try setting the visibility property to hidden.
