Hi
Newbie here, I have searched this topic for help but can't find quite the same issue and I am sure this is user error!
I have only recently started using flare having converted from robohelp, but I am having a problem with files I have created in flare - the original project has been imported from robohelp. When I build the html layer I get lots of 'excluded from output file 'messages for files that do exist, and the resulting chm is missing several folders - relating back to these messages.
My problem is I don't understand why they are being excluded, they exist in the file path recorded in the message, I'm not aware that I have marked them to be excluded from the build but I am not sure how to check.
Can anyone help?
The 'missing' pages were created by a colleague who copied them from an existing topic- the original page works fine but the copied page fails. She used copy and paste in the primary layer view - I don't know if this has caused the problem
thanks in advance for any help.

Re: files excluded from output
It sounds like there might be some conditional tags that were applied at the topic level and whatever conditional tag was used, it's one that's set to not be included in that target (CHM output).

Thanks Lisa
We do have conditional tags set but not on the pages that are missing!

Re: files excluded from output
I am guessing here because I don't know what you mean by a 'layer' but it may be that your output target has enabled the 'auto-reimport before generate output" flag on the Target Options tab so that your project attempts to re-import your robohelp at the start of every build.
These files would be excluded from the import because they did not exist at that time. That should not matter except that unintentionally re-importing things from robohelp may be doing something that prevents your new files from being included in the build. Like if the new folder structure is different. Even if this is not the case, you should check and disable that option unless you are still updating your roboproject outside of Flare.
I make this guess because I see this message when I rebuild some projects where I am using global linking and I have unlinked some files from re-importing.
If I am off base, check your Build progress messages tab and see what lines come before the exclusion messages in the list - that may give you a hint. In mine it says:
Re-importing global-import.flimpfl...
Importing source files...
Excluded Conventions.htm - Z:\Flare 4 Global Project\global\Contentetc.
Yours may say something different, and if you post that, it could help us help you.
