Can anyone tell me what the following relates to when inserted by Flare into the head of an html file? It seems to be some kind of css style but i can find it.
MadCap:lastBlockDepth="3" MadCap:lastHeight="309" MadCap:lastWidth="994"

Re: Madcap block style
That's not CSS syntax (CSS syntax would never use an equal sign, for example). Rather, those appear to be attributes for an HTML element.
I'd need to see the section in context to give you a better idea of what they actually do. Or you could contact Support directly and ask.

Re: Madcap block style
It shows in the top of the html files, seems to be part of the Madcap NameSpace, as below:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<html xml:lang="en" lang="en" xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" class="" MadCap:lastBlockDepth="3" MadCap:lastHeight="344" MadCap:lastWidth="994">
<head>

Re: Madcap block style
I have also noticed this recently. The text is inserted by Flare in to some of the source topics - I found it in about 20 out of 700 topics, and I can't see a pattern. The numbers of the depth, height and width vary in each topic. I've had no problems compiling output so have not worried.
I'm also curious to know what it means.

Re: Madcap block style
You're going to have to ask MadCap on that one. The values for my output are different than yours. Here is what my HTML tag looks like from one of my recent outputs:
Here's one from a different topic:
Don't know what it does, unfortunately. Sorry!
Code: Select all
<html xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" MadCap:lastBlockDepth="2" MadCap:lastHeight="548" MadCap:lastWidth="1115" MadCap:disableMasterStylesheet="true" MadCap:tocPath="File Browser Module" MadCap:PathToHelpSystem="../../" MadCap:SearchType="Stem">

Re: Madcap block style
Just spoke to Madcap about these tags. They represent the Page layout defined in the project for that particular topic file for print outpu, or so I am told.
Re: Madcap block style
Just spoke to Madcap again about these tags coz we had our doubts about the first reason. It now transpires that it is a record of the last dimension and position of the Flare WYSYWIG editor. So take it from there folks...

Re: Madcap block style
why in the world is that not getting stripped out at build time?
Re: Madcap block style
This, and the list of ignored words which is added to the topic after a spell check.doc_guy wrote:why in the world is that not getting stripped out at build time?

Re: Madcap block style
I can't think of any reason why you would want it in the source topic, let alone the built output. Seems pretty pointless to me.
Until next time....
