Is it possible to change the Book Icon (or colour) for only SELECTED topics in a TOC?
I have reviewed http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... f=9&t=7220 but I'm not smart enuf (yet) to know if there's also a way to conditionalize the colour. I would like to have one icon/colour for Concept topics and one icon/colour for Procedures topics.
TIA,
Mellissa

I've never tried it myself, but ... First, go to the Skin Editor then go to the Styles tab, left-click TocEntry, then click "Add Class". Give the new class a name, then specify new images for the topic and book icons. Second, for each topic (or book) you want to be different than the default, right-click on the topic in the TOC Editor, click Properties, go to the Basic tab, then under "Style Class" select the TocEntry class you just created.
Since you're making a change to the skin, delete the Output folder before you rebuild the project so that the browser grabs the latest version of the skin files instead of loading cached icons.
BTW, that's in Flare v4. I'm pretty sure those features were available in earlier versions, though.

Absolutely SUPER! I used my graphics program to locate and alter the topic.gif, book.gif and bookopen.gif, recolouring them to match our corporate colours. Then I did the edits you suggested, blew away the output file and recompiled. Now I have a different colour for Concept and Reference topics, and left the Task topics alone.
Nice work, Madcap! (ok, nice work, guys who invented CSS.... but Madcap people are pretty brilliant too...)

Can you explain how exactly this was done? I'm in the same predicament, but I'm at a loss for how to change the icon colors.LissaEntero wrote:I used my graphics program to locate and alter the topic.gif, book.gif and bookopen.gif, recolouring them to match our corporate colours.
Thanks.

I used the steps you describe to create a "Major" subclass style so that some of the items in my TOC can be bold. Worked like a charm!
Thank you so much for writing this up... I figured it was SOMEWHERE, but had only pawed through the Stylesheet editor and hadn't found it.
