Controling Cursor Movement in Region Capture
Hi,
Would anyone else appreciate the ability to move the cursor using the arrow keys when making a region capture? I find that it is sometimes difficult to catch the exact corner pixel I'm shooting for when using the mouse.

I find a better approach is to grab a few pixels extra and crop the image as part of the processing - that way I can use the zoom feature to get an exact edge.
There again, I'm grabbing screenshots from Vista the aero turned on, which has all sorts of shadow effects on the dialog boxes etc, so processing with zoom is necessary.

In my opinion it would be better not to zoom the handles of a selection. Programs like Snagit don't zoom the handles either and that's much more convenient.
Especially when you have to deal with small details you can't see anything because the handles are in the way.

Zoom is fine. In fact, I consider it a basic element of region captures. However, the lack of arrow key cursor control is a fundamental deficiency.
I've found it even easier to stop using capture return to using HyperSnap for region captures. Arrow key cursor control has been present there as long as I can remember.

Re: Controling Cursor Movement in Region Capture
I already put in a bug report some time ago that the zoom should not zoom the handles. I once had a really small region to capture and I could never get it exact the way I wanted, because the now huge handlers were covering the content. Btw, SnagIt does'nt use handles for region capture, it shows a zoom window somewhere in the corner of the screen.

Capture uses a zoom window, too (and the handles there do not display in the zoom at all).RamonS wrote:Btw, SnagIt does'nt use handles for region capture, it shows a zoom window somewhere in the corner of the screen.

Hello,
Are you looking to get the full region box to move with the arrow keys? Or just a corner which would be resizing the box?
Let me know please
Cheers,

Hi Alvaro,
Just the bounding corners. Depending on screen resolution and mouse speed/resolution, positioning is very touchy. Being able to nudge the cursor movement using arrows would be great.

Yep -- even better for those of us who access our computers from home -- those precision movements are impossible at Internet lag.trent the thief wrote:Hi Alvaro,

Oh, yeah. I'd forgotten how miserable that can be. My workstation is a laptop now so I don't need to deal with stuff like citrix. It was always frustrating to deal with that.Andrew wrote: Yep -- even better for those of us who access our computers from home -- those precision movements are impossible at Internet lag.

Re: Controling Cursor Movement in Region Capture
This is no longer an issue in Capture v4 right? i think its been resolved right?
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

Re: Controling Cursor Movement in Region Capture
Odd...it's not even a problem on Capture v3. I can move my region capture using arrow keys on v3...I don't remember being able to do that before.
