Build-in Flare Analyzer reports are not true to life

Post by Alice »

Hi there!
Clearing up my project I wanted to remove all undefined styles, inherited from the time before flare.
I was really amazed to find a suitable report in flare to see what these styles are. I ran the report and removed the styles i wanted,
e.g. it was <li class="bulletedhyphen2"> and I changed it to <li>

Afterwards I ran the report again, to make sure that I'm through and my project is clean and neat.
I was terrified to see that the results are just the same, although in fact the styles the report shows do not exist in the topics (i checked snippets as well).
I ran the report some more times and the results are the same.

It seems that some kind of things do not get updated as I change topics. I guess it can happen because i alter source code not from flare but I can't even imagin what i should check or fix.

Help please, perhaps there are some settings i have no idea of ?!

When you checked everywhere, did you also look in the code itself? I had that issue when I renamed a bunch of bookmarks, the code from the original was still in the source code.
If you are in analyzer, and double click on the broken link, it will either highlight text, or it will highlight the block in left side of the screen. If it highlights the bar, right click and reveal tags, then the culprit will be highlighted for you.

Just a thought.

Thanks Adrea,
but i'm not using analyzer. I was talking about new flare 4 functionality to build reports with analysis information.
I deleted the analyzer folder and when I restarted flare it built up a new analyzer folder and new reports had relevant information.
Anyway I'm thinking about taking advantage of Analyzer itself.
Thanks again!

sometimes analyser or the internal buily analyser of flare does not clear the changes well with the database. Deleting the analyser folder in your flare project can help a lot with fixing that problem.

A trick I used with analyser was I would make a clean CSS file that was empty, bind it to all my projects and start adding the inline formatting to that new stylesheet with analyser. When I bound all the inline styleclasses i didnt want I would reattach the old Stylesheet and delete the new one. Analyser will immediatly say he can delete the "non existing" inline formatting. Thats how i cleaned up a 3000 page project in 2 hours :P
