I have modified an existing stylesheet, renamed it and applied it to all the topics in the project.
I see them correctly applied (mainly font colour change) on the MadCap view.
I see nowhere else where I should apply the stylesheet. I build.
During the build I see in the processing window that the new stylesheet is being used.
However, the output has the old stylesheet reflected.
What should I do to make the build reflect the new stylesheet?
I have cleaned previous output folder; I have cleared cache off my browser.
Possibly relevant, possibly not: The project has three stylesheets, the new, the old and the one supplied with madcap.
I have seen references to a master stylesheet in other postings. What is a master stylesheet?
Would be grateful for your help!

Welcome to the forums!
When you set up your build target, did you select a Master Stylesheet? There is a dropdown in the Basic tab of the target.

Also, try using the Build > Clean Project menu. This will remove any temp files that may have been left over from previous builds.
Until next time....

If it's a HTML Help, try this:akobayashi wrote:I have modified an existing stylesheet, renamed it and applied it to all the topics in the project.

Find the file hh.dat (usually on C: somewhere) and delete it.
or this:
Delete the history of the IE.
or both ...

Re: Stylesheet applied to topic but not built
Thanks for your replies, however no joy yet!
Arthur, I see no place to attach a Master stylesheet in the basics tab for the target.
All I see are Comment, output Type, Startup Topic, Skin, Master TOC, Browse Sequence, output File, Output Folder.
Could you kindly clarify?
I have cleaned the output folder to the extent of discarding it.
Still searching for the hh.dat file- gave up after 30 minutes in the C drive. I have deleted Firefox history.

Are you producing HTML Help or Webhelp?akobayashi wrote:Still searching for the hh.dat file- gave up after 30 minutes in the C drive. I have deleted Firefox history.
If you produce HTML Help, you will have to delete the IE history, because HTML Help always uses the IE to display the help.
My hh.dat is in:
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\it.HS\Anwendungsdaten\Microsoft\HTML Help
that translates to:
System-drive:\Documents and Settings\User-name\Application Data\Microsoft\HTML Help
If you never came across a HTML Help (even not as help of other applications) you won't have a hh.dat...

Re: Stylesheet applied to topic but not built
Problem solved. The Master Page had the default style sheet associated with it - changed it to the new one.
(I hadn't created the Master Page myself, so didn't know much about it. Removed the default css then saw that the Master page was missing it during the build process, etc.)
