I am using Flare 4.2.1.
I have an HTML Help project in which I want certain "reference" topics to have a different background color than the procedural topics. The default topic background color is white. So I created a new BODY class for the reference topics, so they will have a gray background:
BODY.refWINGS
{
background-color: #d3d3d3;
}
When I apply the BODY class, the topic takes on a gray background in the Flare editor. It also looks right when I test the individual .htm files in Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Opera web browsers.
So here's the problem: The gray topic backgrounds are NOT showing up in the Flare Preview pane OR in the actual .chm output. They all show up with the default white background. Any ideas on what I am overlooking here? Why isn't the background showing up in the .chm?
As always, your help is very much appreciated.

Are you using masterpages at all?

Yes. One master page for my web layout.
Is the master page overriding my new body class?

Re: Background colors not showing
Probably. However, what you can do is create a second master page that uses the background colour you need. You can then call that master page by adding a class to the html tag in the stylesheet for each master page: this will allow you to select the class using the topic properties.

Kevin,
This worked. Thanks for the link to the procedures.
Actually, about six months ago, I used this procedure with another project.
And then promptly forget I had done it...
A clear case of "use it or lose it," or perhaps more evidence of my wife's theory that I am slowly losing my marbles.
Anyway, thanks again!
